This website is dedicated to writing – unlike my psychotherapy website and my art website. The blog posts here also appear on the psychotherapy website.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, psychotherapist, author and former college/university instructor. I have been in private practice since 1999. In the past, I have been a graduate instructor for Troy University (Alabama, at their Tampa, FL site) and the University of Arizona, and taught undergraduate courses for St. Petersburg College, Florida. I have been commissioned in Lay Pastoral Ministry by the Diocese of St. Petersburg, and for ten years was a weekly on-air guest on WBVM Spirit FM 90.5 in Tampa.

For many years I was American Thought Editor, columnist and frequent contributor of articles for USA Today Magazine, which (as have all too many nonprofits) ceased due to lack of funding. Other publications include St. Anthony Messenger, The Priest, and the Journal of Counseling and Development.

I am venturing now into the world of fiction, launching a series based in the fictional west-central Florida town of Sunflower Beach. The first novel, Falling Feathers, was released in August 2025. In Falling Feathers, Alex, a middle-aged librarian, wife and mother, tries to reclaim her life despite the constant interference of family and friends trying to be “helpful.” I hope you enjoy!

The second novel in the series, Never Just One, focuses on Beth, Alex’s daughter-in-law, who seems to have the perfect life, and slowly discovers that, when it comes to lies, there is never just one. Never Just One was published in November, 2025.
